Minimum Requirements:
Applicants must possess a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as a firefighter and NREMT. Candidates are required to hold Firefighter I & II certification or provide documented evidence of equivalent training in Basic Firefighting Skills, Structural Firefighting Skills, Vehicle Rescue, and Hazardous Materials Response. Equivalent formal fire training will be considered. Additionally, valid certifications in Driver/Operator, Fire Officer I, and BLS Field Training Officer (BLS-FTO) are required. Candidates must be a Delaware and Nationally Registered EMT with a valid CPR card. However, out-of-state EMT certifications will be accepted, contingent upon the candidate obtaining Delaware State reciprocity within sixty (60) days of appointment.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary range $67,530 to $95,668 per year commensurate with training and experience.
240 hours of PTO annually.
42 hours of training time, bi-annually.
Potential COLA annually.

Work Schedule:
8-hour workday, Monday through Friday.
Schedule may be adjusted as necessary.

Job Description:
The EMS Chief shall be responsible for the management and supervision of 14 full-time firefighter/EMTs supplemented by a staff of part-time employees. As EMS Chief you shall ensure the maintenance and operational readiness of four (4) BLS units and guarantee compliance with all applicable State of Delaware ambulance regulations. Additional responsibilities include performance evaluations, submitting payroll hours, overseeing the annual EMS subscription drive, administering the Community-wide Discount Ambulance Program, and maintaining the fire and EMS employee training records. The EMS Chief must ensure the timely filing of all required reports, financial records, and EMS billing. The EMS Chief is responsible for all EMS operations at Millville Volunteer Fire Company. As necessary, the EMS Chief will assume the role of 4th Assistant Chief during fire and rescue operations. This position reports directly to the Fire Chief with administrative oversight by the President.
