Motor Vehicle Accident w/entrapment - Beaver Dam Rd. E/O Central Ave.

On Wednesday July 28th the MVFC, Sussex County Paramedics and DSP Aviation were dispatched to an MVA in the area of Bear Trap Dunes on Beaver Dam Rd. 84-18 (Johnson) responding to the scene arrived first, established Command and found a two vehicle MVA with 1 trapped. Command advised E4 that there was entrapment, however upon E4's arrival, ALS decided due to the severity of the injuries a rapid extrication out of the passenger side would be needed. Career FF/EMT Wisseman was able to manipulate the pt's feet from under the pedals and she was removed out of the passenger side door. The front seat passenger had self extricated herself and was found on the shoulder sitting in another vehicle. Both patients were transported to an area medical facility for treatment. Additional Fire Police were requested to assist in closing down Beaver Dam Rd and also diverting the traffic through the Bear Trap Development. DSP and MSP Aviation were both down due to the heavy storms that surrounded the region. Command placed the situation under control and turned the scene over to DSP for the Accident Investigation. Units responding; 84-18, E84-4, Rescue84, A84, C84, SCEMS 105, DSFP, OVPD, DSP.
