On August 27th, 2004 the Millville Volunteer Fire Company along with Sussex County Paramedic Unit 105 & Delaware Trooper 2 were alerted for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of Powell Farm Road & Burton Farm Road. Engine 84-4 arrived to find a T-bone accident with one adult male unconscious still in the vehicle. Command was established by Asst. Chief Scott. The on-scene paramedics indicated that rapid extrication would be needed due to the patients airway status. Rapid extrication was accomplished by the initial arriving crews along with the crew from Engine 84-4 via the passenger side of the vehicle. Rescue 84 arrived and was assigned additional patient care responsibilities, establishing a landing zone, and securing all hazards. The priority one patient was transported to PRMC by Trooper 2 as a priority one trauma. Ambulance C-84 transported one priority 3 patient to Millville medical center. All fire units cleared within an hour with fire police remaining on the scene assisting DSP. Units on Scene: B-84, C-84, E84-4, R-84, M105, EMS 100, TR2, DSP, OVPD, DSFP, DELDOT.
