On early Monday morning the Millville, Bethany Beach and Roxana Fire Companies along with the Sussex County Paramedics were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Atlantic Avenue in Ocean View. Units arrived to find a two story balloon constructed house with smoke showing. Initial reports were that a mother and daughter were still in the residence but this proved to be false and the family was safe. Extreme heat and humidity as well as extensive attack and overhaul required several additional companies to be called to the scene. The Roxana Vol Fire Co's REHAB unit was instrumental in the cooling and hydrating of firefighters allowing them to return to work.
