Motor Vehicle Accident - Vines Creek Road

December 26, 2006

On Tuesday December 26 at 5:28 p.m., the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Vines Creek Road across from the Blackwater Village development. The ambulance crew and firefighters arrived to a single vehicle accident. A Chrysler Sebring was heading east on Vines Creek Road when the driver left the right side of the road and struck a utility pole, breaking it at the base. Ambulance personnel provided initial treatment at the scene to the driver, who was the sole occupant of the Sebring, and then transported her to Beebe Hospital in Lewes, Delaware. Electric power was interrupted to the local residents. Vines Creek Road remained closed between West Beach and Holts Landing Roads until midnight while the Delmarva Power and Delaware Electric Cooperative power companies replaced the pole and restored electric service. Deputy Chief Bob Magee turned the accident scene over to the Delaware State Police for investigation. "DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY"
