On Saturday April 5 at 11:11 p.m., the Millville Volunteer Fire Company and Sussex County Paramedics were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the 34000 block of Atlantic Avenue. Equipment began responding to the alarm within one minute of the dispatch. The ambulance crew and firefighters arrived to a single-vehicle accident. As the driver of a Ford pickup was going west on Atlantic Avenue, he lost control of the vehicle and impacted a tree on the north side of the road. The driver, who was the sole occupant, was conscious and out of the vehicle when emergency crews arrived and was placed in the Millville Volunteer Fire Company ambulance for initial treatment. He was transported to Beebe Medical Center in Lewes for additional treatment. Rescue Captain Richie Walls turned the accident scene over to the Delaware State Police for investigation. “DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY”
