Motorcycle Accident - Walters Bluff Road to Tuckahoe Acres Campground

On Saturday July 26 at 5:52 p.m., the Millville Volunteer Fire Company, Sussex County Paramedics, and Delaware State Police helicopter Trooper 2 were dispatched to a motorcycle accident on Walters Bluff Road leading to Tuckahoe Acres Campground. Units began responding within one minute of receiving the alarm. The ambulance crew and firefighters arrived to a single-vehicle motorcycle accident. A motorcyclist exiting the campground on Walters Bluff Road ran off the left side of the roadway and was thrown from his bike. Sussex County Paramedics and Millville ambulance personnel provided initial treatment to the operator of the motorcycle at the scene. The operator of the motorcycle was then transported by the Millville Volunteer Fire Company ambulance to a landing zone at Walters Bluff and Holts Landing Roads, where he was transferred to the Delaware State Police helicopter Trooper 2. Trooper 2 flew the driver to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury for treatment. Assistant Chief Graig Temple turned the accident scene over to the Delaware State Police for investigation. “DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY”
