On Thursday July 23 at 9:46 p.m., the Millville Volunteer Fire Company and Sussex County Paramedics were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at Sandy Cove and Pine Crest Roads off of Cedar Neck Road. The firefighters and paramedics arrived to a single vehicle accident in which the operator lost control and sheered a utility pole in half. Millville ambulance personnel treated the driver, who had exited the vehicle on his own, at the scene for minor injuries. He refused to be transported to a medical facility for additional treatment. Past Deputy Chief Bob Magee turned the accident scene over to the Delaware State Police for investigation.
