Two Vehicle Accident - Powell Farm and Burbage Roads

On Tuesday August 25 at 9:17 p.m., the Millville Volunteer Fire Company, Sussex County Paramedics, and Delaware State Police medical helicopter Trooper 2 were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Powell Farm and Burbage Roads. Within a minute of the dispatch, emergency units were responding to the alarm. The ambulance crew and firefighters arrived to a two-vehicle accident involving a Dodge pickup and a KIA Sportage. The driver of the KIA Sportage was still in the vehicle. Millville firefighters executed a door pop to facilitate the extrication of the driver. She received initial care at the scene by medical personnel and was then transported by the Delaware State Police medical helicopter Trooper 2 to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury for additional evaluation. The operator of the other vehicle refused treatment. Assistant Chief Richie Walls declared the situation under control at 9:47 p.m. and turned the scene over to the Delaware State Police for investigation.
