At 1:03 a.m. on Monday, May 17, the Millville, Bethany Beach, and Roxana Volunteer Fire Companies were dispatched to a structure fire in the 38000 Block of Possum Road in the Bayshore Trailer Park. The responders arrived to an electrical fire in a mobile home that was quickly extinguished. Fortunately, the occupants of the mobile home heard a “popping” sound and noticed a light fixture in the hallway ceiling on fire, which activated their smoke detector. The occupants were able to exit the mobile home safely and sustained no injuries. Assistant Chief Shawn Evans declared the situation under control at 1:38 a.m. and turned the scene over to the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office. “DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY”
