On Friday, June 25 at 1:23 p.m., the Millville Volunteer Fire Company and Sussex County Paramedics were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at Central Avenue and Beaver Dam Road. The firefighters and emergency medical personnel arrived to a two-vehicle accident involving a Chevrolet pickup truck and motorcycle. Chief Richie Walls declared the situation under control at 1:53 p.m. The accident scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police Fatal Accident Investigation Reconstruction Team for investigation. It was determined the motorcycle drifted into the path of the pickup truck and collided head-on. The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.
