Single Vehicle Accident - Atlantic Avenue & Railway Road

Dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Upon arrival of Assistant Chief Lockwood found a single vehicle crash car verses power pole with energized lines and pole on vehicle with vehicle on its side. Captain Temple assumed command from Rescue 84 and Assistant Chief Lockwood was assigned extrication officer. Captain Temple passed command to Chief Magee. All activities were suspended waiting arrival of power company to de-energize the power lines involved. After power was secured Assistant Chief Lockwood directed stabilization with cribbing and struts and a roof flap operation to remove the victim from the vehicle. Victim removed and placed in ambulance and situation was placed under control with road closed until utility companies could replace pole and lines. Scene turned over to Fire Police (Captain Lloyd crew leader) and units placed in service.
