At the March 19, 2013 Millville Volunteer Fire Company regular meeting night, four members of the Bay Forest Social Committee made a special visit to the fire company to finalize the results of their March 9 Chili Cook-Off fundraiser. Gene and Liz Speicher were accompanied by Terri and Tom O'Brien to present a check in the amount of $1,084 to President Clarke Droney. This brought the grand total the Bay Forest Community Club Social Committee raised for the Millville Volunteer Fire Company to $3,081.50. It is the hope of the Social Committee to conduct an annual fundraising event as a token of their appreciation for the service the members of the Millville Volunteer Fire Company provides to the residents in its fire district. Upon the completion of the presentation by the Speicher's and O'Brien's, the members of the fire company expressed their appreciation with a standing ovation.
