At the Millville Volunteer Fire Company Inc. Annual Awards Banquet held on January 16^th, 2016, John L. Stephens was named the Millville Volunteer Fire Company “Firefighter of the Year” for 2015.  The award is named in honor of past members Raymond E. Powell and Louis B. Evans.  It is awarded annually to the individual who best exemplifies the courage, commitment, and honor inherent to all firefighters.

John started his fire service career with the Millville Volunteer Fire Company as a Junior Firefighter on October 9, 1963.  He joined the Senior Company on April 20^th, 1965.  John received his Lifetime Membership on October 9^th, 1983.  John has served the company on both the operating and administrative sides.  John became an ambulance attendant and served the company for many years in this capacity.  John has held the offices of President, Ambulance Captain, Ambulance Lieutenant, and Engineer.  John has served on various committees too numerous to mention.    John is still very active as an engineer.  He is the “go to” person at our Clarksville station and has been a key part of it’s success.  John is a team player and continues to contribute daily to the operations of our company.  Congratulations John!
