Heavy Equipment Assist

February 02, 2016

On February 2, 2016, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was called for a heavy equipment assist at 1101 hours. A tractor trailer hauling a piece of heavy equipment for paving cut a turn too short and the trailer ended up in a ditch. A heavy duty wrecker was called in, but could not get the trailer out of the ditch. The Millville Volunteer Fire Company responded with Rescue 84 and deployed their air bags, which resulted in the trailer being able to get free and open up the intersection it was blocking. The situation was mitigated at 1325 hours and Woodland Avenue was back open for traffic.
