On Wednesday, 12 July 2017, at 1210 hours, your Millville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted and dispatched to assist Roxana VFC for a vehicular accident with entrapment on Bayard Road near Wilgus Cemetery Road.
Millville VFC responded with Engine 84-2. Roxana VFC units, Ambulance 90, Rescue 90, Brush 90, and Fire-Police 90 were at the scene. In addition, Fire-Police from Millville VFC supported with traffic control due the proximity of the crash-site to Bayard Road.
MVFC Engine 84-2 was manned by, Chief Watson, Tyler Dean, Brian Mushrush and driven by President Droney.
MVFC Fire-Police Harry Warburton and Earl Green provided point control on Bayard Road.
Sussex County Paramedic unit 105, manned by Paramedics Cassandra Petralia and Trent Hill provided support to the on-scene medical units.
DSP was investigating this single vehicle collision whereby the vehicle left the traveled portion of Bayard Road and entered a ditch approximately 9’ deep. Charges are pending the investigation of the facts.
The unidentified operator was transported to a local medical facility by Ambulance 90 for the injuries sustained.
The vehicle necessitated winching to be removed from the ditch.
