On Thursday, 18 October 2017, your Millville Volunteer Fire Company partnered with Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company in a classroom and practical exercise with students at the Lord Baltimore Elementary School.

The students were provided some classroom instruction on preventing and escaping a fire.  I do believe they enjoyed the outside exercise of maneuvering a charged fire hose and extinguishing an actual fire over the essential classroom instruction!

EMS Chiefs John Watson and Phil Brackin explained and demonstrated the techniques utilized in extinguishing an actual fire if that ever became necessary.  The students were also instructed on the types and uses of fire extinguishers in today’s firefighting arsenal.
