On Sunday, the courageous men and women of your Millville Volunteer Fire Company, along with Bethany Beach, Roxana, and Frankford VFC’s were alerted at 1702 hours and subsequently dispatched to the unit block of West Avenue for a structure fire. Sussex County Paramedic Unit 105 was also alerted to respond in a support capacity.
Fire Captain’s Melson and Bowden had a large contingent of Fire-Police on site directing traffic due to the close proximity of major roadways to this particular fire event. Officer Troy Bowden of the Ocean View Police Department targeted crowd control.
Chief’s Doug Scott (MVFC) and Tom Moore (BBVFC) assumed operational command at the fire.
As of this writing, there are no reported injuries and the fire was associated to an electric outlet.
