On December 4^th, 2021 at 1958 hours, as units were clearing a gas leak in the area, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to an outside fire in the 36000 block of Wild Wood Avenue south of Ocean View.  Engine-Tanker 90-4 was in the area and was added to the call.  Upon arrival units found and area of woods approximately 50’ x 80’ on fire with exposures to a residence.  Units were able to quickly bring the fire under control with no damage to the structure.  The cause was determined to discarded ashes from a fire place.  Units clearing a previous call and being in the area is credited to limiting damage at the scene.  The Frankford VFC provided coverage to the Millville fire district during the incident.  The Millville VFC would like to remind all of our residents to fully extinguish any hot fire place ashes for safe disposal.
