On Saturday February 18th, 2023 at 1701 hours the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to an automatic fire alarm in the unit block of Sunrise Lane in the Country Village development in Ocean View.  As units were responding the call was upgraded to a working structure fire with possible entrapment bringing the mutual aid box alarm to the scene.  Units arrived to find fire showing from a one story ranch style home with a finished attic.  An offensive fire attack was conducted bring the fire under control within one hour.  Searches were negative.  No injuries were reported.  Fire Chief Walter Johnson had command of the incident.  Mutual Aid was provided by Bethany Beach, Roxana, Frankford, Dagsboro, Selbyville and Millsboro fire companies (2nd Alarm).  The fire is under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office.  Two residents were displaced and were being helped by the Red Cross.  The MVFC would like to thank all the agencies that assisted with this incident.  Photos by Andrew Johnson RVFC & Greg Tietmeyer MVFC.
