On Wednesday October 25^th, 2023 the Millville Volunteer Fire Company awarded trophies and two bicycles to student winners of the fire prevention posters and essays at Lord Baltimore Elementary School in Ocean View. In addition to the trophies, several students received a cash prize.  President Gregory Hocker, Fire Chief Walter Johnson and Deputy Chief Paul Sterling presented the trophies and bicycles.  Administrative Assistant Velicia Melson was instrumental in organizing this event. 

The new bicycles went to the top 4^th and 5^th grade winners.  Today 1^st place winners will proceed to the Sussex County Fire Prevention Poster and Essay Contest.    

2023 Lord Baltimore Fire Prevention Poster and Essay Winners:

Kindergarten : 1^st Place – Bethany Brasure, 2^nd Place – Jaxson Steele, 3^rd Place – Violet Bennett.

1^st Grade : 1^st Place – Claire Andrews, 2^nd Place – Layla Warner, 3^rd Place – Alivia Payne.

2^nd Grade: 1^st Place – Kira Phanousith, 2^nd Place – Sophie Hickman, 3^rd – Nolan Hull.

3^rd Grade: 1^st Place – Asha Ziskay, 2^nd Place – Rhys Berard, 3^rd Place – Spencer Breeding.

Special Poster: Delaney McCowan

4^th Grade: 1^st Place – Samuel Bouloucon, 2^nd Place – Paige Adkins, 3^rd Place – Nora Tice.

5^th Grade: 1^st Place – Owen Nuttle, 2^nd Place – Cora Deck, 3^rd Place – Mia Lambert.
