On Monday July 8th, 2024 members of the Millville Volunteer Fire Company apparatus committee flew to E-One in Buffalo, NY to conduct the final inspection on our New Engine-Tanker 84-4. Members that attending the final inspection this week were Chairman Dave Carr, Engineer Jack Melson, Engineer Dennis Ayres, and Captain Clayton West.
After the final inspection and approval by the committee, the new unit will go to Patriot Fire in Grasonville, Maryland for graphics. After graphics, the unit will then go to BAM’S Hook and Hose Fire Equipment LLC in southern Maryland for tool mounting. The new Engine-Tanker is expected to be in service next month. The new Engine-Tanker will replace a similar 2003 American LaFrance unit which is currently for sale. The new Engine Tanker will cost approximately $875,000.00.
The Community Hero’s Capital Campaign, which is in its fourth year, is underway and was established to replace our aging fleet of fire apparatus. If you would like to help fund the purchase of this new unit, please look for our Capital Campaign literature in the mail this August or go to www.millville84.com to make a donation.
