Effective Monday August 12^th, 2024, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company is honored to announce the promotion of FF/EMT Tyler Hickman to the position of Career EMS Captain.  In the past, Tyler has stepped up and acted as our Career EMS Chief, leading the Career Division for several months with outstanding results.  Tyler has the respect of the MVFC command staff, volunteer division, as well as his fellow employees.  Tyler began his full-time career with the MVFC on September 14^th, 2009.

Tyler started in the fire service journey with the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company in November of 2000. Tyler is a third generation firefighter.  His father, Chad Hickman, is a Past Fire Chief and his grandfather, Jack Hickman is a Past President of the BBVFC.

On August 8^th, 2024 Tyler celebrated his 16th wedding anniversary with his wife Karen. Tyler and Karen have two children, Colin age 13, and Madeline age 10.
