On Saturday morning November 9^th, 2024 at 0756 hours the Millville Volunteer Fire Company along with the Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Police Aviation section were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Atlantic Avenue in the area of the Dollar General store.  Units arrived to find a single vehicle accident involving a power pole.  One patient was treated and transported by ground to Tidal Health in Salisbury, Maryland.  Rescue 84, Engine 84-6, Brush 84-0, Traffic Control 84-13, Command 84-8, Ambulance B-84 and Ambulance C-84 made the response.  Sussex County Southeast Zone fire police and DELDOT were alerted to respond and assist with traffic control.  Delmarva Power was requested to respond to the scene to replace the pole.  Fire Chief Walter Johnson had command of the incident.  Units operated for approximately one hour.  The scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police for investigation.
