On Wednesday evening November 13^th, 2024 approximately 20 members of the Millville Volunteer Fire Company attended one of several scheduled training sessions to complete our annual Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) certification.  Each year the MVFC conducts training that each member that wears SCBA is required to attend.  This year’s topics included a complete SCBA review, rapid intervention bag and connections review, and a review of the Sussex County MAYDAY procedures and radio reports.  Each member completed an evolution as a distressed firefighter as well as being the firefighter preforming the rescue.  The instructor for the class from the Delaware State Fire School was Tom Moore Sr.  Tom is also a Career Lieutenant with the Salisbury, MD Fire Department as well as the Deputy Chief of the Bethany Beach VFC.  Tom did an excellent job providing quality instruction and passing along years of battle tested knowledge to our members.
