Just after 1pm on Sunday afternoon, November 17, 2024 the Millville VFC along with mutual aid companies were dispatched to the area of West Ave and Oakwood Ave for a garage fire with possible exposures. Command 848 arrived on scene and confirmed a garage fire with no extension into exposures. First Due Engine 84-2 provided fire suppression and initiated a water supply. First Due Special Tower 70 arrived on scene and provided overhaul and securing the electric to the garage. Second Due Engine 84-6 arrived on scene and secured Engine 84-2’s hydrant along with assisting with fire suppression and overhaul. Third Due Engine 90-5 would arrive on scene to stage at a secondary hydrant if needed. The incident was quickly scaled down due to no extension into exposures and fast fire suppression efforts by crews on scene. Units operated for approximately 1 hour. Assistant Chief Webb had incident command.
