Firefighters Without Borders

February 05, 2026

Fire equipment must meet strict regulations and standards, which vary widely by country. As a result, we sometimes have to retire equipment that is still in excellent condition simply because it no longer meets our regulations. This is particularly true for safety gear. The rules governing safety equipment in the United States may differ from those in other countries. To make sure good equipment doesn’t go to waste, we’ve partnered with Firefighters Without Borders. This organization collects equipment that's still in good working order and donates it to fire departments worldwide. Thanks to this partnership, reliable equipment can continue to help communities that truly need it.

Recently, we retired our Scott Air Packs (SCBAs) and upgraded our equipment to meet the latest regulations and standards. This equipment has served us well for many years. Rather than letting our retired air packs go unused, we donated them to Firefighters Without Borders. These SCBA packs will support fire companies in Mexico and South America, extending the life of vital equipment and providing essential safety gear to firefighters in those countries. Here, the packs are loaded up and ready to go to their new home.
