FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Harassment and Hate Crime Cases Have Concluded
Millville, DE – July 27, 2026 – Two widely reported criminal cases of former Millville Volunteer Fire Company members accused of harassment in 2024 have now been resolved. The incident was reported to Delaware State Police in April 2024. As a result, Jay Droney and Jordan Hastings were arrested. These cases have reached conclusion, and both cases are now closed. We have no direct information regarding sentencing details; however, CoastTV News has reported on the matter here:
We would like to thank the investigators, prosecutors and those who contributed to bringing these cases to conclusion. Millville Volunteer Fire Company has been very transparent about the changes we made in response to this incident, including mandatory annual training, policy and procedure changes, published policies and community outreach. These changes have made us a better company.
