December 07, 2004
At approx 0338hrs the MVFC was dispatched for an Engine cover-up assignment for the Bethany Beach VFC whom had just been dispatched to assist the Ocean City VFC with a working townhouse fire. Due to the rapid fire progression a third and fourth alarm were struck simultaneously which then upgraded our response to an Engine and Truck Company cover-assignment to Ocean City Station 3 at Mid-town. Truck 84 and Engine Tanker 84-4 responded with 11 firefighters and stood by until 7am when the majority of Ocean City's and other mutual aid companies were released from the scene. The MVFC also provided a BLS unit to assist in the EMS coverage of the city. 3rd Asst. Chief Johnson was in charge of the stand-by crew.
