On Wednesday night at approx 2145hrs the MVFC was dispatched to an injured subject in the Country Estates development in Ocean View. Prior to arriving on the scene Sussex EOC advised C-84 that they had received more information from the 911 caller and the injuries were as a result of an MVA on Beaver Dam Rd. Sussex upgraded the initial EMS call to a full Company response to the area where the crash occurred due the report of other injured occupants. Chief 84 (Hammond) responded from his residence and arrived to find an SUV on its side against a telephone pole. Heavy damage was noted to the roof of the vehicle but luckily both remaining occupants had made it out of the wreckage on their own. E84-4 under the direction of Deputy 84(Johnson) provided assistance to EMS crews as well as securing the vehicle. Rescue84 assisted with scene lighting as well as clean up. A & B-84 along with two of 105's Medics transported the two additional injured teens to an area medical facility for evaluation of their minor injuries. Due to the mechanism of the crash however both teens were treated as "trauma alerts". Chief Hammond terminated the command while holding the Fire Police on scene until DSP/OVPD could complete the investigation and have the vehicle removed.
