Propane Grill Fire - Tucson Street, Banks Acres

On the evening of June 27, 2005, the Millville, Bethany Beach, and Roxana fire companies were dispatched to a reported working trailer fire in Banks Acres north of Millville. Upon arrival of 84-8 (Command Unit) with Assistant Chief Doug Scott, a fire was discovered involving a propane gas grill in the back yard of the residence. The assignment was reduced to Millville VFC only, returning the remainder of the assignment. An 1 3/4" handline was placed in service for cooling of the propane cylinder and finally securing the tank valve. Units operated for approximately 1 hours before returning to quarters. Units on scene: E84-2, E84-4, Truck 84, Rescue 84, Ambulance C-84, 84-8. 84-16 (Scott)with command, 84-18 (Temple) with operations, Deputy 84 (Johnson) with accountability. Safety 84 (Lloyd) with safety, 84-15 ( Hammond) with water supply.
