On Wednesday March 29th the MVFC, Sussex County Paramedics and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to a reported MVC with subject trapped and vehicle on fire. C84 and 84 Command arrived within minutes of dispatch to find the vehicle's occupant compartment fully involved with fire and the subject still inside. Chief Temple established command and reduced the EMS assignment to ground units only placing Trooper 2 in service. Eng 84-4 arrived and placed in service an attack line which quickly extinguished the fire. Rescue 84's crew pulled a second line and applied foam to the underside of the truck. The occupant of the vehicle was pronounced on scene by SCEMS and the scene was secured for the DSP FAIR Team (Fatal Accident Investigation and Reconstruction). Units removed the drivers door prior to going back in service to allow access for the Medical Examiner.
