Working House Fire - The Cottages, Ocean View

At 2:32 a.m. on Thursday, April 13, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company responded to a house fire at 18 Seabrook Drive, The Cottages, in Ocean View. Upon arrival at the scene, the fire company found a two-story house fully engulfed in flames. Protection of the dwellings on each side of the house became the first priority before extinguishing the blaze. Due to the efficient actions of the firemen, damage to the adjacent houses was minimized.
The Bethany Beach, Roxana, Dagsboro and Rehoboth Beach fire companies assisted the Millville Volunteer Fire Company on the scene. The Frankford, Selbyville, and Ocean City fire companies provided additional standby support. One firefighter sustained minor injuries. The fire scene was turned over to the State of Delaware Fire Marshals Office for further investigation.
