The Millville Volunteer Fire Company hosted its first Texas Holdem Poker Tournament on Saturday, August 26, 2006. All proceeds generated from the fundraiser went into our Building Fund. Participation in the event far exceeded the expectations of everyone and made the event an overwhelming success. Anticipation and enthusiasm were high all evening as everyone waited to see who would make it to the last table of nine for the night. We would like to apologize to those who were turned away at the door since we were filled to capacity. However, we have been assured more players will be able to participate when we schedule our next Texas Holdem Poker Tournament. Prize money was payed out to the top nine finishers. Winners for the evening were: 1st Place-Nathan Mitchell of Dagsboro; 2nd Place-Gus Pratico of Bethany Beach; 3rd Place-Brian Quattlebaum of Bethany Beach; 4th Place-Tom Starkey of Millville; 5th Place-Lou Thibault of Millsboro; 6th Place-Eddie Sparpaglione of Georgetown; 7th Place-Kathleen Evans of Bethany Beach; 8th Place-Jason Coco of Delmar; 9th Place-Tony Licausi of Milton.
