Motor Vehicle Fire - Double Bridges Road

On Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 3 a.m., the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a motor vehicle fire on Double Bridges Road. The firefighters and ambulance crew arrived to find a Ford Tempo in a ditch on fire with the driver and sole occupant already out of the vehicle. First Assistant Chief Doug Scott requested a foam line from Engine 6 be put into service to extinguish the fire. The driver of the vehicle received treatment for minor injuries at the scene, but was not transported to an area hospital. First Assistant Chief Doug Scott turned the accident scene over to the Delaware State Police for investigation. "DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY"
