On Sunday November 12 at 1:34 a.m., the Millville Volunteer Fire Company received an initial dispatch to a motor vehicle accident at Atlantic Avenue and West Avenue. As the ambulance crew and firefighters were responding to the alarm, it was determined the real location of the accident was on Garfield Parkway in Bethany Beach, west of Route 1. The ambulance crew and firefighters arrived to a single-vehicle accident in which a Chevrolet Cavalier struck a utility pole on the side of the westbound lane. Ambulance personnel provided initial treatment at the scene to the driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, who was then transported to Beebe Hospital in Lewes, Delaware.
