House Fire Assist With Bethany Beach Fire Co. - 117 Anchorage Drive, South Bethany

January 27, 2007

At 3:33 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company responded to a house fire assist with the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company at 117 Anchorage Drive in South Bethany. Upon arrival at the scene, the fire companies found the front of a two-story house engulfed in flames. A quick attack by the firemen extinguished the blaze on the outside of the house, while minimizing fire extension into the front living area of the dwelling. The fire appeared to have started outside in the yard before moving to the house. Bethany Beach Fire Chief Tom Moore stated the fire caused moderate damage to the home. Nobody was home at the time of the alarm, and there were no injuries. The fire scene was turned over to the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office for investigation.
