On Monday October 15 at 2:45 p.m., the Millville Volunteer Fire Company and Sussex County Paramedics were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on West Avenue and Daisey Lane in Ocean View. The ambulance crews and firefighters arrived to a two-vehicle accident involving a Plymouth Voyager minivan and a Volkswagen Passat.  Millville ambulance personnel were able to immediately treat the driver of the Volkswagen and transport the individual to Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. The driver of the Plymouth Voyager was trapped and needed to be extricated from the vehicle.  Members from the Millville and Bethany Beach Fire Companies worked together with rescue equipment to perform a dash roll, dash lift, and roof removal to free the driver.  The driver of the Plymouth Voyager was then flown to Christiana Medical Center in Christiana.  Fire Chief Doug Scott turned the accident scene over to the Delaware State Police for investigation.
