Two-Vehicle Accident With Entrapment - Vines Creek and Hickory Mannor Roads

On Thursday November 29 at 6:37 p.m., the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at Vines Creek and Hickory Mannor Roads. The ambulance crew and firefighters arrived to a two-vehicle accident involving a Pontiac Sunfire and Ford minivan. Upon arriving at the scene, Rescue Lieutenant Richie Walls requested the Sussex County Paramedics and Delaware State Police helicopter Trooper be dispatched for additional assistance. Millville Volunteer Fire Company personnel used rescue equipment to open the driver side door and remove the car roof to free the driver of the Pontiac Sunfire. The driver of the Pontiac Sunfire was then transported by the Millville Volunteer Fire Company ambulance to a landing zone at Vines Creek and Holts Landing Roads where she was transferred to the Delaware State Police helicopter Trooper 2. Trooper 2 flew the driver to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury for treatment. The driver of the Ford minivan was transported to Beebe Medical Center in Lewes for treatment. Rescue Lieutenant Richie Walls turned the accident scene over to the Delaware State Police for investigation. “DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY”
