At 3:04 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a fire, nature unknown, in the Murray's Haven development. Emergency units arrived to a shed fully involved in fire behind a residence on Indian Hill Lane. Although the fire was confined to the shed area, the vinyl siding on the rear of the residence facing the shed sustained heat damage from the blaze. The shed and its contents were a total loss. The owners of the residence were not home at the time of the alarm. Second Assistant Chief R.J. Kauffman turned the fire scene over to the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office for investigation. Damage was estimated at $5000.
