Motor Vehicle Accident - Kent Avenue & Double Bridges Road

December 05, 2007

On Tuesday December 5 at 1:43 p.m., the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at Kent Avenue and Double Bridges Road. Equipment began responding to the alarm immediately. The ambulance crew and firefighters arrived to a single-vehicle accident. As the driver of a Ford pickup was going west over the Assawoman Canal Bridge on Kent Avenue, he lost control of the vehicle and impacted the guardrail on the north side of the road. Both occupants of the vehicle were treated at the scene by ambulance personnel and refused to be transported to the hospital. It was snowing at the time of the accident with temperatures hovering around the freezing mark. The Delaware Department of Transportation was called in to sand and salt the bridge. Rescue Lieutenant Richie Walls turned the accident scene over to the Delaware State Police for investigation. “DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY”
