Landing Zone - Millville Volunteer Fire Company

March 14, 2008

On Friday, March 14 at 2:48 p.m., the Millville Volunteer Fire Company ambulance squad responded to an injured subject with hemorrhaging and lacerations in the parking lot at the Weekend Walk-In Medical Center located at 205 Atlantic Avenue. A decision was quickly made due to the nature of the injuries that the individual should be flown to the Christiana Care Medical Center. At 2:54 p.m. the alarm was sounded for a landing zone to be set up at the Millville Volunteer Fire Company for the Delaware State Police Medical Helicopter Trooper 2. Once the helicopter landed in the fire company parking lot, the patient was transferred to Trooper 2 and flown to Christiana Care Medical Center for treatment.
