Dive Team Training - Dutch Springs, Bethlehem PA
June 15, 2008
Over the last two months 9 divers from Millville and 5 from Ocean City, Md., have worked hard in the classroom, during the pool sessions and at the open water dives to complete the PADI Advanced and Rescue Diver SCUBA Classes.
These two classes enhance the diver’s skills and abilities in the areas of navigation, deep diving, buoyancy control and search & rescue. Team members were instructed on how to recognize medical conditions both in water and on the surface as well as how to rapidly manage and treat those issues.
The class was paid for from a generous donation by the Angelo Russo Memorial Dive Fund. The Russo family from Ocean City, Md., lost their son Angelo in a diving accident off of Ocean City on August 20th 2003. Since that tragic day the family has made it their mission to raise money to assist local dive teams to enhance their training and equipment.
We congratulate the team members on their accomplishments and we would like to thank Bill Krebs and his staff from the Silent Blue SCUBA School on their instruction and guidance.
