On Saturday June 28 at 6:18 p.m., the Millville Volunteer Fire Company and Sussex County Paramedics were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at Old Mill Road and Bridge Lane. The ambulance crew and firefighters arrived to the scene of a pedestrian who was struck by a motor vehicle. Initial treatment was given to the victim at the scene, who was conscious and responsive. A landing zone was established at the Millville Volunteer Fire Company so the Delaware State Police Helicopter Trooper 2 could transport the victim to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland for additional evaluation and treatment.
