Summer 2009 Duty Crew - Station 1 on Atlantic Avenue

June 01, 2009

Deputy Chief Doug Scott of the Millville Volunteer Fire Company once again has organized the 2009 Saturday Duty Crew for the summer months beginning with Memorial Day weekend and ending on Labor Day weekend. During these sixteen Saturdays, members of the Millville Volunteer Fire Company will be standing by at Station 1 on Route 26 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Millville Volunteer Fire Company Deputy Chief Doug Scott stated, “The traffic on Route 26 on Saturdays during the summer months is so congested it makes it difficult for members to respond to the station for an emergency call in a safe and timely manner. To counteract this situation, we have divided the membership into four teams that will provide coverage every Saturday during the summer months on a rotating basis between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. This plan will allow us to more effectively serve the community by providing an immediate response to an emergency when the east/west traffic on Route 26 seems to be at its highest. Members not on the duty crew will still be responding to the station for an emergency knowing an initial response is already in effect.” The company members would also like to thank Al Casapulla for his generous assistance in providing the official food of the Millville Fire Co. Duty Crew. To visit Al Casapulla’s Sub Shop on the web, go to http://www.websiteq.com/member/al/. “DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY”
