On Friday July 10 at 2:27 p.m., the Millville Volunteer Fire Company and Sussex County Paramedics were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Holts Landing Road and Irons Lane. Within a minute of the dispatch, emergency units were responding to the alarm. The ambulance crew and firefighters arrived to a two-vehicle accident with both vehicles located in a ditch at the southwest corner of the intersection. One elderly female patient was still in her vehicle. She received initial care at the scene by medical personnel and was then transported by ambulance to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury for additional evaluation. The operator of the other vehicle refused treatment. The situation was declared under control at 2:44 p.m. and turned over to the Delaware State Police for investigation. “DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY”
