On Friday September 25 at 9:27 p.m., the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Club House Road south of Old Mill Road. Firefighters and ambulance personnel arrived to a single vehicle accident. The operator of a Chevrolet utility pickup truck was traveling north on Club House Road when the operator ran off the right side of the road snapping a utility pole in half. Chief Shawn Evans turned the accident scene over to the Delaware State Police, who detained the driver of the vehicle at the scene. The Delmarva Power Company was called to replace the utility pole. Power was finally restored to the surrounding area at 4:45 a.m. Saturday morning. Club House Road was closed down from Atlantic Avenue to Old Mill Road until the utility pole was replaced. “DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY”
