Brush Fire Assist With Rehoboth Beach Vol Fire Co - Island off of Camp Arrowhead Road on Herring Creek

On Tuesday, September 7 at 7:19 a.m., the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to assist the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company with a brush fire that was initially reported at 6:38 a.m. The brush fire was located on a small island off of Camp Arrowhead Road in Herring Creek that was only accessible by boat. Due to the location of the fire, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company was requested to respond with its Marine Unit. Under the direction of Fire Chief Richie Walls, Firefighters Mark Nicholson, Craig Temple and Harry Warburton launched Marine 84 at the Harbour View Marina located on the Assawoman Canal in Ocean View. Marine 84 arrived on the scene at 8:12 a.m. and assisted in controlling and extinguishing the fire. The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company Command declared the situation under control at 10:59 a.m. “DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY”
