On Wednesday, January 19 at 3:36 p.m., the Millville Volunteer Fire Company, Sussex County Paramedics, and Christiana Care Lifenet 2 helicopter were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the 32000 Block of Vines Creek Road. The firefighters and emergency medical personnel arrived to an injured pedestrian who was struck by a motor vehicle. Emergency medical personnel provided initial care and stabilization to the victim. A landing zone was established in the field on the south side of Vines Creek Road. The victim was transferred to the Lifenet 2 medical helicopter and transported to the Christiana Medical Center for additional care and treatment of his injuries. Assistant Chief R.J. Kauffman declared the situation under control at 4:11 p.m. and turned the accident scene over to the Delaware State Police for investigation. “DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS PROUDLY SERVING OUR COMMUNITY”
