On Sunday, 25 June 2017, your Millville Volunteer Fire Company, alongside Bethany Beach, Dagsboro, and Indian River Volunteer Fire Company’s participated in the Second Chance Paddle Race in the picturesque Indian River.
EMS Chief John Watson (MVFC), Chief Brian Martin (BBVFC), commanded out of Marine 70’s boat while underway, piloted by BBVFC Past Chief Rick Parrett. Al Townsend piloted Dagsboro VFC’s boat and Bill Tobin Piloted Indian River VFC’s vessel.
Millville Volunteer Fire Company’s Marine Unit was piloted by, Steve Maneri. Divers were Tyler Bare and Jacob Townsend. Ambulances were manned by, Alice Hopple, Samantha Lewis, Tara Truitt and Jerry Carter.
Sussex County Emergency Operations Command Vehicle was on-site and under the command of Tara Richie.
Sussex County Paramedics, Brandon Donaway and Matt Troutman were present for any major injury that may possibly occur.
Finally, Trish Scott and Steve Gilbert piloted the Sea Doo Rescue Jet Ski’s today.
